Rockola made several different scoring units for shuffle board games just after WW2. We already did one version, but here’s another. Before and after pics below.

We were sent a modified translight for the 1994 Williams Flintstones and asked to sharpen it up, and to put it on glass. Note this is custom artwork with no “williams” logo (so WMS can’t say anything about it.) It is somewhat comical artwork, if you look closely. Anyway we put it on glass and […]

This Williams Laser Cue glass came into the shop, and at first it didn’t look that bad. But flipping it over, we noticed all the ink at the bottom of the glass was ready to just let go and fall off! Luckily we got the glass scanned before it imploded. Though the before picture below […]
A lot of people have asked about restoring this glass. Finally one came into the shop in decent condition to scan and restore. Below are the before and after pictures.

In to the shop walked a Williams Time Warp score glass for restoration. Though not in terrible condition, it did have the typical spider webbing that these glasses like to get with time. So we scanned it and cleaned it up, making for a very nice Time Warp restoration. Check out the before and after […]
The 1960s Bally EM pinballs are some of our favorites here at BGresto. So when a Bally Cross Country glass showed up for restoration, we gladly took it on. Check out the before and after pictures below.
The 1963 Midway Champ pinball is a really cool game with animated backbox cars that go around a race track. So when the score glass came into the shop for restoration, it was a welcome project. Below are the before and after pictures of the glass.
Wow this glass took *forever* to finish. The original came to the shop is less than spectacular condition. After scanning the Photoshop touch up and repair work just took a really long time (way longer than most glasses.) But it’s done now. Check out the before and after pictures.
Another popular pinball game that often has a very bad score glass. The Gottlieb Surf Champ glass came into the shop for restoration. Below are the before and after pictures.
The Gottlieb Shipmates score glass is often seen in poor condition. So when someone asked to have theirs restored, we jumped at the chance to do the work. Below are the before and after pictures.
In to the shop walked a Gottlieb Strange World backglass for restoration. Though the original wasn’t in terrible shape, it did need some work to make it really nice. Below are the before and after pictures.
We don’t do a lot of bowler or shuffle alley score glass restorations, but every once in a while someone convinces us that we should do it. Here’s a United Leader Shuffle Alley before and after restoration we did for a customer.
The classic 1940s International Mutoscope Atomic Bomber game was a mainstay in most arcades through the 1950s. We did not get the glass itself for restoration, but instead were provided the scan files. From that we created an excellent reproduction of the original glass. Below are the front and back side pictures of the glass […]
The classic Stern Split Second glass came into the shop with bad delamination of the flesh tones. We cleaned that up and restored the glass to like new. Check out the before and after pictures below.
The Scientific Batting Practice is a classic EM arcade game from an era long gone. This machine was used for decades in many old time arcades. So when an original glass came in for restoration, we had to take it on (though the original glass was pretty trashed.) Check out the before and after pics […]
Received a Bally Freedom (EM) glass for restoration. Also received a “prototype” version of the glass. The only difference seems to be the “1976 1776” moniker on the glass. But anyway, below are the before and after pictures of the restoration. A slightly different variation of the glass…
In to the shop came a Gottlieb Rollercoaster glass for restoration. Though not incredibly damaged, it had some peeling and a lot of fading. The owner wanted a nice glass for his game, so we restored it. Check out the before/after pics below.
We received this oritinal Gottlieb Lite-a-Card score glass in terrible condition. Note only lots of peeling, but the glass itself was broken in many places. We were able to get a good scan and then cleaned up the artwork, and restored the glass. Check out the before/after pics below.
This Williams Fiesta score glass came into the shop in pretty bad condition, with lots of ink peeling. After a scan and some graphics work, the repair of this glass came out great. Check out the before and after pictures below.

A guy walked into the shop with a 1970s Bally Boomerang pinball glass. It wasn’t really in bad condition, with just some minimal fading and scratches. But he wanted it restored, so we took on the project. Below are the before and after pictures.
Into the shop walked a Bally Sea Ray for restoration. The original Searay was scanned in, cleaned up, and the glass repaired making it new. Wow check out the before and after pics below – the original glass was extremely faded, and peeling badly.
Though Gameplan games aren’t exactly the most popular, when one came into the shop for restoration, we were happy to restore it. The original was highly faded, with the reds being very diminished. Check out the before and after pictures below.
Into the shop walked a Gottlieb woodrail backglass called “Silver” for restoration. Below is the before and after pictures for this restoration. It came out quite nice! As you can see the original glass had quite a bit of damage from age and light bulb heat.
The 1950s Williams backglasses are often in pretty bad shape. Time is the enemy, and this game’s glass was no exception. The 1953 Williams Palisades had some great artwork, but in this case, it was largely peeled away. So a restoration was in order. Below are the before and after pictures.
Originally the 1986 Williams Grand Lizard was designed as a system9 game in 1985, artwork by Paul Faris. But ultimately the game was not released until the system11 era. The original artwork had to be changed to compensate for system11 alpha-numeric score displays (they were in a different physical position than the original numeric display […]
The Gottlieb Pinball Pool game has a slightly mirrored glass, but Steve managed to colorize this minor mirroring into a really attractive restoration. The before and after pictures below tell the story best. He did a great job on this one!
We bought a Bally Hang Glider, and the glass was not in good condition. All the red areas of the kite were letting loose, and basically transparent. This glass really needed to be restored, which we did. Check out the before and after pictures below.
Got a Williams Fast Ball pitch and bat score glass in the mail for restoration. Though not in terrible condition, you could tell when back lit, it wasn’t a very good glass. So restored it to like new condition. Check out the before and after pictures below.
In to the shop walks a Williams Jungle Lord backglass for restoration. We never seen a really nice example of this glass, they all seem to have issues. This one wasn’t too bad, but the ink artwork was delaminating. So we fixed her up and restored this glass. The mirroring on the glass had to […]
In to the shop walked a 1986 Williams Grand Lizard pinball score glass for restoration. The original was peeling at the bottom along the edges of the score window cutouts, and had a large crinkle of ink through the middle of the glass. It was definitely ready for a restore, so we took on the […]
Pinstar was a company that Gary Stern started after the (original) Stern pinball went out of business in 1985, and before the start of Dataeast in 1987. Their one and only game was Gamatron, essentially a narrow body version of Stern Flight 2000. The game was sold by Gary Stern and Steve Kirk (Pinstar) as […]
The Williams baseball games from the 1960s have been coming to the shop for restoration! At least so it seems. Many are in pretty bad shape too. Check out the before and after pictures below. Bring baseball games back to life for all to enjoy!
The Williams pitch and bat games often seem to need glass restoration. We are slowly getting a pretty good inventory of these glass restorations on file, so new requests go much quicker. Anyway here’s the 1967 Williams Base Hit glass restoration we just did. (Sorry no before picture.)
We’ve been working on and collecting pinball machines for a really long time, and I can’t ever remember seeing a 1978 Williams World Cup with a good backglass! I think these came from the factory pre-worn and flaking. So when we got a request to restore this glass, we were all for it. Below are […]
This glass came to the shop in pretty poor condition, and ready for a restoration. Steve did an outstanding job, check out the before and after pictures!
Someone sent Steve a Williams Highways backglass for restoration. Colors were a bit faded, and there was definite peeling on the solid colors. But a good candidate for restoration. Check out the before and after pictures.
We got a glass in the mail for a Gottieb Showboat wedge head. The glass was peeling pretty badly (especially around the “show boat” marquee), so it definitely needed restoration. Steve worked his magic, and it came out nicely. Check out the before and after pictures.
Williams Blackout pinball backglass came into the shop for restoration. Below is the result from the Black Out restoration. Note the original backglass is mirrored. If we have your original backglass, we can wash off all the original (peeling) ink, and re-use the original glass with new ink (saving the mirroring.) If we don’t have […]
Here’s one we’d never thought we would do, a video game front glass. This is the glass that surrounds the 19″ vertical monitor on the 1980 Atari Centipede game. Someone came into the shop with one of these glasses, and it was peeling badly. Scanned it in and touched it up in Photoshop. The results […]
We’ve done the Bally Rogo pinball glass restoration before, but here’s a new twist on it. A guy contacted us with a custom modification for his Rogo glass. He wanted the young lady in the glass “enhanced.” Who are we to say no to this? So check out the pictures below, before and after. ‘Normal’ […]
In to the shop walked a terrible condition Bally Bus Stop pinball score glass from the 1960s. A fairly rare game, but it was just begging for restoration work. Check out the pictures below and what Steve did with this one, before and after.
The Williams Star Light is a fairly rare game, so we were happy to help with the restoration of this glass. It wasn’t in terrible shape, but starting to delaminate. Scanned in and restored to like new condition.
We love pitch and bat games here at BGresto. So when a 1958 Bally Heavy Hitter glass walked into the shop for restoration, we were thrilled to do it. Check out the ‘before’ picture… boy did this glass need restoration! The outcome was quite good, we are very happy with the results.
We’ve worked on this glass before, but didn’t document it here. So here’s the output from that work. Note some minor changes were made to the girl to enhance her “girlie-ness” in the second version. We also did a third version which is even more revealing…
Another glass that we probably should have not taken on, as this customer’s game is the only one known to exist! But hey, sometimes you have to do glasses for “important” games, just because you can. Also this customer has probably had us restoration 50 other glasses, so we kind of owed him. Anyway the […]
Generally we don’t do a lot of bowler score glass restorations. The reason is simple… they made so many different bowlers, it’s just too much work, and too little reward. That is, who will ever need another CCM Match Bowler glass restored (besides this one person)? Probably no one, so the work to do the […]
We see a good many Gottlieb Surf Champ (4 player) backglasses for restoration, but it’s rare to get a Surfer (2 player) version of the game glass. Hence we were very happy to restore this glass for the owner. Note the IPB production numbers for this game and Surf Champ are incorrect.
The “Flipper” series of Gottlieb add-a-ball games in the early 1960s all tend to have problems with their score glasses. Hence we were thrilled to get the Gottlieb Flipper Fair glass into the shop for restoration. The availability of silk screened “Flipper” series of games’ backglasses seems to be non-existent, so this restoration was an […]
This is a classic Bally multi-ball EM pinball. So when this glass walked into the shop for restoration, we were very happy to do it. Amazing Ted Zale game with some cool artwork. You can see the before and after pictures below. Note there is also a “green” version available too.
The Williams EM “Spanish Eyes” is a very popular game, largely due to the artwork. It’s far different than other artwork of the same era. So when we got a chance to restore the glass, we tried to beat expectations. Below are the before and after pictures.
In to the shop walked a gentlemen with a Gottlieb James Bond score glass that was peeling badly. We scanned that glass and repaired the missing artwork, and brightened the colors. Was able to make his original glass look like new. Check out the before and after pictures. Also we did a custom version for […]
This 1960 Gottlieb Wagon Train glass came off a game that frankly, we would have thought as “parts.” But the owner wanted to restore it, so who are we to tell him otherwise? The glass was peeling pretty bad around the “score to beat” area, as you can see in the picture below. But we […]
The 1948 Evans Bat-a-Score pitch and bat baseball is one of the most collectible coin operated baseball games out there. So when the backglass for this game, which was in about the worst condition we’ve ever tackled, came through the door, we were honored to work on the glass. The glass does have some mirroring, […]
Sometimes we wonder why Steve takes on certain glasses for restoration. Yea we get it, what these people have games with glass where they “waited too long, the damage is too intense.” We would have thought this would be one of those glasses! But Steve pulled a rabbit out of his hat, and turned this […]
In to the shop walks a Williams Smart Set backglass. Wow this glass has seen better days! Amazingly Steve took it upon himself to restore this glass. (Frankly I would have thought he would wait for a better example to start the graphics work with.) The results were outstanding, as you can see from the […]
Now here’s a game you just don’t see. But a guy walked into the shop with his original Bally Firecracker pinball score glass, and it was in bad need of restoration. The glass was really peeling, and we knew it could be fixed. So we scanned it and restored his original glass to like new […]
